Digital assets employing cryptography to secure a decentralized network with activity stored on a distributed ledger.

Introduction

Cryptoassets are used to store and provision digital goods in a peer to peer fashion across decentralized networks.

The term was popularized by Chris Burniske and Jack Tatar’s book Cryptoassets. Acting as a more encompassing term than cryptocurrency. Describing the broader range of activities that can take place outside of value transfer.

The Three Types of Cryptoassets are:

  1. Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin
  2. Cryptocommodities like Ether
  3. Cryptotokens like Chainlink
